European Youth Event Report 2018: Speak Up Europe!

The 2018 EYE saw contributions from 9,000 participants, providing great ideas on Europe's future.

The third EYE has provided MEP's and policy makers a clear view of the concerns, dreams and expectations of young people for their future.

We are excited to work with emerging talents who can tell stories about finance, politics and people from new perspectives and in different formats. As a global business we rely on diversity of culture and thought to deliver on our goals. To ensure we can do that, we seek diverse, talented and qualified employees with proven knowledge and passion for business, markets and/or multimedia and data journalism.

Each year the event gives young people the unique opportunity to speak with decision-makers on the European stage, and contribute their opinions on what Europe needs.

On the 1st and 2nd of June 2018, Strasbourg was the venue for discussions based around five themes:
  • Young and old : Keeping up with the digital revolution

  • Rich and poor : Calling for a fair share

  • Apart and together : Working out for a stronger Europe

  • Safe and dangerous : Staying alive in turbulent times

  • Local and global : Protecting our planet

To highlight the success of this year's event, selected participants have been asked to further discuss their ideas in parliamentary committees and with MEP's themselves, showing the commitment to acting on the event's discussions. You can follow each of these follow-up discussions here.

MAKE A STAND – LET’S BUILD OUR FUTURE TOGETHER!

TYM publishes a variety of media contents – texts, caricatures, photos, video-clips – created by young people, youth workers, experts, and all others that wish and have something to say about youth policy.

Geographically, TYM is primarily targeting European and Latin American countries, but it also publishes important news and initiatives in the field of youth policy worldwide.

The e-Magazine gives special attention to youth media activism, wishing to present the examples of best practices of using different media for youth activism.

Besides authored articles, TYM also gathers together relevant articles from other web-sites. TYM e-Magazine is thus a virtual space where visitors are able to get information about the international situation and problems of youth policy, and the place where young authors are able to write articles and other content intended for improving the youth policy internationally. In this respect, it has vital importance for the intraregional and transregional association, understanding, coming together, promoting dialogue and cooperation.
This portal has been created as part of the international MEDIActive Youth project implemented within the Erasmus + Programme. The aims of the project are:
Increasing the capacity of youth organisations/workers in the field of media literacy and media activism as well as fostering their active participation in society
Strengthening media promotion of youth policy and democratic values on European and global level.
